Strategic Planning and Project Management
I work with senior teams within public and private sector organisations to contribute to strategic planning and business planning. This usually involves developing a clear understanding of business areas, consulting with a range of stakeholders and working with organisational teams to teach agreement on the way forward. Often in this area of work, I bring my skills in coaching and action learning to develop their own skills in strategic and business planning. For example, I have worked successfully with a small charity which needed to develop a business model, as a requirement of funding. The success of this project rested on ability of the whole organisation to embrace changes and develop its infrastructure to support the strategic direction of the organisation, at the same time as identifying and responding to staff training needs. My experience in the civil service has proved essential in working with teams to interpret policy and plan for the future. I have been successful in project managing several long term projects, including action research and evaluation projects for government departments.

Learning and Skills
I work with learning and skills providers, including FE colleges and VCS groups in developing provision, particularly around planning and quality improvement. For example, I have been part of an ESF project team developing a Quality Improvement Handbook for providers delivering learning and skills to both prisons and within community settings. I bring expertise in the delivery area but also in the area of inspection and whole organisational approaches to quality improvement. Similarly I am able to offer consultancy in the 14-19 sector, where I have been part of a team developing coaching and action learning for practitioners and managers.

Team Building and Facilitation
In addition to coaching individuals, I also offer team building and training. Recent projects have included facilitating action learning within the secondary schools sector as part of the 14-19 Diploma initiative and working with managers and practitioners in the learning & skills sector. For example, I have facilitated senior management team away days, to agree a common way forward for the organisation and offered training sessions in coaching, NLP and effective communication techniques.
